Beer To The Rescue
As many of you know, May is Lupus Awareness Month meaning the month of May is observed to increasing public knowledge about the disease. Luckily for us, many local breweries have decided to join the cause by partnering with Beer To The Rescue to help initiate campaigns to increase awareness. Beer To The Rescue is a charity campaign that supports Lupus research and awareness based around the craft beer scene. If you’re looking to drink to a great cause, the month of May is filled with opportunities. Every week this month Hoplight Social will feature the events taking place that week. Here is your 1st week (May 1st – 7th) guide to local breweries events in honor of Lupus Awareness Month. Let’s kick off the month of May with a beer and help spread awareness for those suffering with Lupus.
Monday, May 1st: Rip Current Brewing
Rip Current Brewing in North Park will be hosting a tasting room full of beer and food to enjoy between 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. At the event, 10% of all proceeds will go to the Lupus Foundation of Southern California.
Tuesday, May 2nd & EVERY Tuesday in May: Societe Brewing Company
Societe Brewing Company will be hosting events to bring awareness to Lupus. At the tasting room in Kearny Mesa, 10% of sales between 12-9pm on those days will go to the Lupus Foundation of Southern California.
Wednesday, May 3rd: Pariah Brewing Company
Pariah Brewing Company’s tasting room in North Park will host an event between 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. For every purchase of their “Dank Drank,” 10% of the proceeds will go to the Lupus Foundation of Southern California.
Thursday, May 4th: Thorn St. Brewery & Duck Foot Brewing
Thorn St. Brewery & Duck Foot Brewing will campaign for donations to the Lupus Foundation of Southern California. Between 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. join Thorn St. Brewery for $1 dollar off every beer. At Duck Foot’s Miramar tasting room, $1 dollar will be donated for every coffee-infused IPA between 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Friday, May 5th: Booze Brothers
Join the Booze Brothers for their ‘Cinco de Drinko Fundraiser’ between 3:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. at Booze Brothers Brewing Co. During this event, the brothers will brew a raspberry-infused beer. For each of the brews sold, 40% of all profits will go to the Lupus Foundation of Southern California.
Saturday, May 6th: Indian Joe Brewing
Between 1:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., the newly opened Vista brewery – Indian Joe Brewing is brewing up a fruit-infused sour beer. For each beer sold, $1 dollar will go to the Lupus Foundation of Southern California. We can’t think of a better reason to check out a new local brewery.
Sunday, May 7th: Pure Project
Pure Project will donate 10% of all sales at the tasting room in Miramar to the Lupus Foundation of Southern California. Between 1:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. stop be sure to stop by their “Beeramar” location for a cause.
