Stone Brewing Rallies Breweries to Aid Santa Barbara Victims

Santa Barbara Stone Brewing Disaster Relief In light of recent events, Stone Brewing plans to rally and help relief efforts in Santa Barbara. Beginning this week, the San Diego local will be donating a portion of their sales. Their distributing division, Stone Distributing Co., and the craft brands it carries will also be contributing to the cause as well. The donation will go to benefit those in Santa Barbara County affected by the devastating fires and mudslides. Direct Relief will be the beneficiary, being as they are currently providing emergency services in the area.

A percentage of Stone and Stone Distributing Co.’s supplier partners’ sales will generate the donation. A couple of their most notable partners are MadeWest Brewing Co. in Ventura and Silva Brewing  out of Paso Robles. Also, Stone Brewing will donate $1 of every pint or growler fill of Stone IPA at all of its Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens, Taproom and Company Store locations.

Partner breweries of Stone Distributing Co. contributing to the month-long fundraising effort include:

  • Julian Hard Cider
  • Kern River Brewing Company
  • Mikkeller San Diego
  • Victory Brewing Company
  • Smog City Brewing Company

“Our hearts are heavy for the communities affected by the fires, and now mud slides, in Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties,” Dominic Engels, Stone Brewing CEO expressed. “The craft brewing community has always been of the mindset that our collective efforts are more important than that of our individual needs and this is no exception. These communities really need our help, and given the good nature of our supplier partners and craft beer fans, we’re well positioned to provide financial support for their long recovery ahead.”

Stone Brewing and its distribution arm is no stranger to the rally cry. In a similar manner, the company raised $72,000 to aid those in Sonoma and Napa Counties. This came following the fires last October. To date, Stone Brewing has donated more than $3.5 million to charity from events and one-off campaigns such as this.
