Steady Hand Beer Co. to release Black is Beautiful Collaboration alongside Atlanta based Chef Deborah VanTrece and artist DJ Jelly
In mid-July, Steady Hand Beer Co. brewed their version of the Black is Beautiful stout, a now worldwide collaborative project started by Weathered Souls Brewing Co. out of San Antonio, TX. The importance of this beer is to bring awareness to the injustices faced by people of color.
The Beer
Steady Hand put their own twist on the collaborative stout with the culinary inspiration of local renowned chef Deborah VanTrece and Atlanta based hip-hop artist and producer DJ Jelly. This particular version of Black is Beautiful boasts a roasty, espresso flavor and was brewed with orange peel, GA grown sugar cane, and pecan finishing balanced and smooth at 6.75% ABV. Proceeds from this beer will be donated to local organizations that support equality and inclusion including Atlanta based program Page Turners.
The Release
To kick off the weekend release, on Friday the 21st Chef Deborah VanTrece will be hosting a neighborhood-style Fish Fry with DJ Jelly starting off his weekend mix one night early. Following the pre-party on Friday, the main event of the official can release will take place on August 22nd with the American style stout debuting in 16oz 4-packs. For the Saturday celebration, Chef Deborah VanTrece will be hosting an array of culinary bites alongside Chef Robert Butts smoking up deliciousness on his Green Egg, and the delightful Edible Endeavors serving up their “signature style, exquisite food”. Bringing it all together of course will be DJ Jelly spinning hot tunes throughout the day to keep the party going. The events will take place in the spacious West Midtown taproom with plenty of space for distancing and safety precautions in place.
