Ska Brewing + Bootlegger’s Society Celebrates Colorado Public Lands Day with Double IPA Collaboration
Beer and nature lovers, this article is for you! On May 20, 2017, the first-ever Colorado Public Lands Day will take place. In honor of this event, Ska Brewing collaborated with The Bootlegger’s Society to create a commemorative beer. For those of you who don’t know, the Bootlegger’s Society is made up of six breweries located in Durango. In addition to Ska Brewing, it includes Steamworks Brewing, Carver Brewing Co., Brew Pub + Kitchen, Durango Brewing, and Animas Brewing.
The Beer
The brewers of the Bootlegger’s Society collaborated to create a small batch Double IPA at Ska’s Mod Project Brewery for Public Lands Day. This delicious Double IPA collab uses Simcoe, Galaxy, and El Dorado hops. Additionally, the Double IPA will only be on tap at the Durango breweries. If that wasn’t good enough, all proceeds from the Double IPA sales will go directly to Conservation Colorado.
History of Colorado Public Lands Day
Colorado became the first state to establish a holiday that recognizes the value of their public lands. From here on out, the third Saturday in May will be dedicated as Colorado Public Lands Day to celebrate the contributions that public lands give to citizens of Colorado.
