San Diego Beer Festivals: Spring & Summer Round-Up
San Diego is known for great beer and awesome weather all year round, but Spring and Summer are when the beer festivals begin to ramp up. Something about longer days and impending beach weather gets San Diegans excited about craft beer even more so than usual. Fortunately, you have plenty of Spring and Summer craft beer festivals coming your way! Here is a list of some of our favorites in San Diego.
Spring Festivals
The Quintessential Festival | Saturday, April 28, 2018 – La Jolla
This family and pet-friendly Craft Beer & Wine Festival returns for the 5th year. Attendees will enjoy unlimited samples from more than 30 craft breweries, distilleries, wines, and spirits. Dance along to live music and enjoy complimentary samples from local restaurants. Best of all, all proceeds benefit more than 45 charity partners of the Rotary Club of La Jolla Golden Triangle.
Rhythm & Brews Festival | Saturday, May 5, 2018 – Vista
Back for the 7th year, the Rhythm & Brews Festival is sure to exceed your expectations. General admission attendees will have the opportunity to sample over 120 beers from over 50 award-winning breweries. Can’t have the Rhythm and Brews Festival without the Rhythm, so of course, there will be live musical performances throughout the day for all to groove to. This year a new VIP section is being added with a tented beer garden including exclusive access to San Diego’s most rare and sought after beers. VIP members will also receive three different food items to pair, early festival access, and much more! Proceeds from the event will benefit the San Diego Brewers Guild. SDCUU Festival of Arts | Saturday, May 12, 2018 – North Park
One of San Diego’s favorite neighborhoods is hosting its 22nd Arts Festival. You guessed it, SDCCU Festival of Arts is back! This year Hoplight Social is especially excited about the launch of the new updates to the Waypoint Public Craft Beer Block and Cocktail Garden. These new additions offer a number of options for enjoying local craft beer and food pairings. Within the block, there will be live demos from chefs and brewers. Live music will be playing, and you’ll have the chance to sing your heart out at the karaoke booth! Aside from all the great beer and food, SDCCU Festival of Arts will also feature over 100 artists. Artwork such as pottery, photography and handmade jewelry will be on display for viewing and sale.
Santee Street Fair & Craft Beer Festival | Saturday, May 26, 2018 – Santee
This event is fun for the whole family! Celebrating its 10th year, the Street Fair will host its 5th annual beer festival featuring local breweries. There will also be more than 300 various food and vendor booths, art, kids zone, local entertainment, and more! Those who pre-order a Craft Beer Garden wristband will also receive a free meal. You can’t beat $25 for ten 4oz pours!
Summer Festivals
16th Annual Beer & Sake Festival | Friday, June 1, 2018 – Funner
The Japan Society’s Beer & Sake Festival is a popular and fast-growing charity tasting event. The event will feature local restaurants serving appetizers and breweries pouring craft beers and sakes. The festival also includes art booths, a silent auction, a raffle, and exciting entertainment. A few activities that set this festival apart from others are San Diego Taiko, and a tuna cutting demonstration. Proceeds from the Beer & Sake Festival support educational and community outreach programs.
Hessfest 8| Saturday, June 9, 2018 – North Park
Mike Hess Brewing is throwing their 8th annual Hessfest! Mike Hess Brewing is hosting 25 breweries, 10 food vendors, 3 bands, and a comedy show. Kick off summer with an awesome local beer festival. The great part about Hessfest is their beer tasters are unlimited! Attendees will also receive a souvenir branded pint glass which is good for $4 refills at any Mike Hess Brewery (M-TH) in 2018. VIP admission includes admission to #VIPSOURFEST inside their tasting room. Enjoy live music, great beer and, support a local brewery.
Stone Sour Fest | Sunday, June 10, 2018 – Escondido
Stone Sour Fest is back by popular demand! This year the festival will feature beers from Stone’s very own Stone Mission Warehouse Sour Program in addition to the incredible list of guest sours. Stone Brewing Hop-Con 6.0 – Thursday, July 19, 2018 – Point Loma
In conjunction with SD Comic Con, Stone Brewing is hosting Hop-Con 6.0. Tickets include fifteen 3oz pours, 3 specialty casks of W00tstout, commemorative glassware, gourmet food stations with unlimited tastings, lawn games, photo booth, and dessert! This is a great event to kick off an awesome weekend of Comic-Con shenanigans!
