Something Brewery Made Beer for Breakfast Happen!

Something Brewery Cereal Beer FlightThis morning, Something Brewery released their latest beer series: Cereal Beers! The Brighton, CO local’s goal with this release was to break boundaries and to have fun with experimentation. Needless to say, achieving that goal happened for them. The beer was released when their brewery doors opened on Saturday, July 28th, at noon. Since they only had one keg of each on tap and limited crowlers, us, along with many Colorado beer lovers, waited outside their tasting room in anticipation of the release.

“This release is part of a new thing we are trying out here at Something Brewery, a new theme every month of a 3 Pack Release,” says owner David Allegrezza, “3 different styles of beer with some kind of crazy addition to the theme for that month. Last month was all milkshake IPA’s, next month we are doing an Ice Cream truck craft pack.”

With the cereal beers, Something Brewery wanted to go with the idea of how it felt to wake up in the 90’s before school. They wanted to bring back fond childhood memories of the mornings you spend eating your cereal and playing the fun games on the back of the box. Also, the feeling you have when you get to the toy inside! In Something Brewery’s case, the “toy” with the three-pack crowlers is a set of 3-D glasses. Why the 3-D glasses? Because the crowler art features 3-D artwork.

David Allegrezza, Something’s designer/owner, spent countless hours making the games and everything organically 3-D. He also drew every one of the owners and beerslingers on each of the crowlers in a cartoon form. They really wanted these crowlers to be nostalgic and bring you back when you were a kid again. However, it would contain a beverage made strictly for adults.

It’s safe to say that the beers were worth the wait. Fruity Sparkles was the perfect balance of tart and sweet, delighting our taste buds on the warm, Colorado summer day. Super Cereal was just as delicious. It wasn’t overly heavy, which made it great to sip on in the warmer weather. Last, but certainly not least, Crunch Berries rounded off the flight with a sweet balance of a malt and hop profile.

We weren’t the only ones who enjoyed this release! They sold out of their crowlers within 2 hours of opening their doors – a whopping 950 crowlers were sold in that time frame. We can attest – delicious is an understatement about these beers! We look forward to their next series release. This time, we’ll be getting there even earlier!
